Heart screenings for women are free
WomenHeart: The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease will conduct free heart health screenings from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at Burlington Coat Factory, 39200 Van Dyke Ave., Sterling Heights. Shrine of the Black Madonna to hold Watoto Reading Festival for kids
The Shrine of the Black Madonna will host the Watoto (children's) Reading Festival, "a day dedicated to our Shining Stars," from noon-6 p.m. Saturday. Highlighting the free event will be readings and book signings by local children's authors Karen Dabney, Kenya Harper, David L. Watkins, Phyllis A. Russell-Gilmer and Denise Crittendon.
